The revolutionary new menu navigation – developed with practical use in mind, intuitive and intelligent. EDM-PiLOT redefines the way programs are created with a CAM system.
The menu is arranged in a circle – so you always know where you are in the process of creating the NC program. We take you by the hand and work through the settings and tasks clockwise. Each position shows you only the parameters that are still required. The wonderful thing is that the NC code is generated in the background and errors are immediately detected, highlighted and thus avoided. But if you want it quick and easy, just press the Fast Forward button – and the NC output is ready, fully automated!

XPRESSCAM impresses with its simplicity. The play button in the center of the EDM-PiLOT is all you need to intuitively create an NC programme. Complex menus or remembering a multitude of icons are simply no longer necessary.

Clamping
Definition of the coordinate system for program output on the workpiece (e.g. corner points, model edges, drilling centres, etc.), setting the axis alignment in X-Y-Z (via rotation of the axis alignment); Determination of the workpiece material; selection of the wire diameter & wire material, the EDM machine; alignment of the workpiece coordinate system and other machine settings.
Blank geometry
Raw material detection via the workpiece description using the workpiece box or a user-defined workpiece. Dimensions in X-Y-Z, selection of the workpiece material and specification of the desired cutting height.
Erosion geometry
Automatic detection of all erodible geometries and creation of the corresponding machining contours. Filter functions (e.g. outer/inner contours, cylindrical, standard conical & others, including wire inclination limitation).
Contour properties
Assigning contour properties for machining geometries; setting the base plane and height; defining the contour entry points.
Starting points
Start-up distance; position on start-up element (in %); wire position (left, right)
Cutting sequence
Option to set the sequence (e.g. first all main cuts, then re-cuts, etc.); timing for cutting off the waste pieces (immediately, after the main cut or separately, after re-cuts); additional settings (e.g. partial processing), etc.
Sequence control
Approach/exit; entry/jetty; sequence control for separating the rejected parts (e.g. one cut or several cuts) depending on the quality selection in the next step; or pendulum.
Qualities
Selection of machining quality; offset compensation; interpolation tolerance.
Program header
Program data (e.g. file name, program number, path, etc.); order data (e.g. part name, part number, etc.).
NC browser
Based on the settings entered, creation of the NC code and display below the graphics area. The view, including output of notes and warnings, is colour-coded.

No more errors
Our NC processor technology generates the corresponding NC code in the background as soon as the program is created. This means that errors can be displayed and corrected before they are sent to the machine. As mentioned, it is quick to learn, intuitive, clear and safe.
